2011 Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs

Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs

This is my official entry for the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2011.

As a stay-at-home mom, I spend my time on the net when I’m not attending to the needs of my toddler, my husband, and the house. The net has also been an opening for me to let out my feelings and thoughts when a mommy friend, Nicquee introduced me to blogging. Since then I’ve been frequenting some sites that I find both informative and inspirational that have actually helped me either cope or at least know that I’m not alone in my new career as a mommy.

These blogs are:
Mom Writes – I love this blog because it defines what parenthood means. Amidst the struggles in life, the author can still find the good in people and dire situations which is important to keep the ideals, hopes and dreams in children alive. No matter what bad things are thrown at us, we have to keep positive for the sake of our children.

Mommy Survival Guide – What I like about this blog is how realistic her topics are. The author really shares with us readers scenarios that happen in real life and how to deal with it. I love that I can relate to the posts because the topics are just but natural phenomena in “family life”.

Notepad Corner – I love this blog because as a reader, I can really feel that the author has had a lot of experience when it comes to living a family. I love her tips on the most basic things such as cleaning 101, how to teach children values, parenting, toys, etc. I really learn a lot from her and I know other moms will agree with me too.

Levyousa – I learn, I empathize, I wonder, I cry, I laugh… yes this blog has everything and anything you can think of. I like it because it just journals day to day living, true to the heart, true to the soul. I’m happy I’ve stumbled upon this blog because it makes me realize we mommies, are human too.

The Tottering Mama – I am so happy with this blog. I really thank the good heavens above that I found about The Tottering Mama because I too am trying to raise and educate my little girl from home. I love how she shares her knowledge and treasure finds on home schooling as well as the latest news and treats for kids but sometimes injects a post or two (or more) about awareness in our society and culture. This is one site you won’t want to miss if you have little toddlers in the house.

The Pepperrific Life – Although the author and the blog is mostly about life as a single parent, I’m amazed how the author just goes out on a limb and shares herself in the post. As a parent and a wife, sometimes it makes me realize what I have that I take for granted when I read about it from another person’s point of view. I thank the author for sharing because through her, I learn a lot about my role in life too.

Green Living Ideas – Ever since I gave birth in the midst of a typhoon, and my little girls 1st birthday being cancelled 3x because of typhoons Ondoy, Pepeng, Quedan, Ramil and Santi, I told myself that I should be more conscious on how I can help make the world better for my daughter. Although I know I still have a lot to learn, I’d love to be able to contribute to a greener earth and this blog has definitely helped me a lot. The constant reminder of using ecobags is an example of how it made me realize that I can do it without plastics (most of the time, but I’m getting there).

Okay, enough drama about being a mom and a wife. There are sites too that I frequent just because. Take for example –

My Painted Lips – In my 30+ years of life in this world, I have never really paid much attention to fashion, more so about lipstick. I believe I am a tomboy at heart. But My Painted Lips made me realize that if just by applying a lipstick can be called fashionable, in life there is also such a thing that we sometimes take for granted. Being a mom made me forget ME but… I know carry a lipstick (or lipgloss) in my bag for a little oomph, just when I feel I want it. Oh, and another thing, thanks to this blog, I also seem to have a better grasp of the latest “fashion” finds in the market and what they’re used for (eg. BB Cream).

Certified Foodies – Just the name alone now makes me hungry. I love how the authors (sister-brother tandem) share their experiences and adventures with food. Who could ever resist food? I can’t… and because of their blog, I know where to take my family to when we go out and want an awesome food adventure. I love that they share the latest in food, restaurants, deals and anything that can satisy one’s cravings.

The Bloggers Journal – Thank you The Bloggers Journal for your tips and tricks in blogging. Newbies like me learn a lot from your trials and errors, and I am fortunate that I don’t come to those errors myself because you’ve already found the solution. This blog made my blogging easier because I know that if I have questions about templates, widgets, plugins, etc., I can find it in this blog, or if not, request for it and the author will definitely lend a hand as much as she can.
