It’s been a long time coming, but now I admit I’m kind of a pack rat. I just can’t discard anything, even receipts and big paper bags! It’s one reason why we have so much stuff around the house, and it doesn’t help the my husband is kind of the same.
At one point, I want things to be put in boxes when they’re not used thus boxes after boxes of toys are stored everywhere. The same thing goes for shoes and other house accessories. But honestly, it’s very seldom that we put the things back in them.
Take for example the shoes. My shoes are cheap so I don’t really put them in boxes (and most of them didn’t come with boxes anyway) but hubby’s are a different story. Since most of his are kind of not cheap (from my point of view), I would prefer it it’s put in the box right after it’s used, but they don’t. His shoes are all lined up by the stairs so he could easily choose what he wants to wear for a particular day. Now when all of them are all worn out and need to be replaced, should I put them back in the box when I dispose of them? So what were the boxes for?
Weird right? I find it weird and it just dawned on me that I really need to throw out a lot of stuff. I know our intentions were good when we decided to keep most of them but we need to let go sooner than later. It’s a good time to start now though so my little girl won’t grow up to be like me, or us. She has to learn to value her things, yes, but she also has to be practical enough to know which ones to keep and which ones should be thrown away, right away.
